If you’re like me, you find it easy to get lost in the noise as we go throughout our days. We mean well. We mean to live with more intentionality, to give our attention to the simple pleasures; a hot cup of coffee, a sunrise or sunset, delighting in the laughter of children.
But then we remember the urgency of the dishes in the sink or the laundry piled high; the demands of our job, our kids, our family commitments, and before long the siren call of online oblivion beckons to us in a way that sounds very much like rest.
Thinkers will enjoy this publication. I have been blessed (and cursed) with a mind that begs to go deeper, unsatisfied with conventional wisdom and ready to explore connections that are not immediately apparent. I have more than 10 years experience in pastoral ministry, five years as a social worker in mental and behavioral health, an MDiv, BSW, and am currently working on an MFA in creative writing.
My pastoral colleagues (in the Anabaptist tradition) might find my content helpful as a way to engage a biblical text in a fresh or different way. My Christian friends might find these thoughts helpful to chew on throughout the day. My other friends might just appreciate periodic updates on what I’m thinking about, and find a challenge to understand something in their own lives a bit differently than they currently do.
So I invite you along for a front-row seat to this project. I’m not asking for money; not yet anyway. You can subscribe to get full access and never miss an update. You won’t miss a thing. Every new edition of the newsletter goes directly to your inbox (maybe once or twice a month but hopefully more frequently by the fall).
